Why my JetBlue experience paled in comparison to everyone else’s.

I have yet to hear a bad thing about flying with JetBlue. Whenever this airline comes up in conversation, I hear that it’s the best one.

Understandably so, you can see that I was pretty excited to board a JetBlue plane for the first time. That’s what happened in the recent past during a voyage from West Palm Beach to New York’s La Guardia airport. This was my chance to finally experience this fan favourite for the first time.

When I got to the airport, I was immediately impressed with their check in service. I was originally assigned to an aisle seat and when I asked if I could switch to the window (you’ve got to take advantage of those bird’s eye views!) the agent had zero qualms. I got my boarding pass printed in a split-second and then I was on my way to security.

Once through security, I headed on towards my gate to do a little pre-flight plane spotting. When our aircraft arrived, I approached the desk at the gate to ask if it was possible for me to pre-board due to an injury I had at the time. I was surprised and a little taken aback that the agent said no.

I boarded with everyone else and before I knew it, we were airborne. Once up in the sky, I tried to watch a movie but I was out of luck again. As it turned out, the TV was broken. I took a short nap and woke up just on time for the meal and drink service. Luckily, things picked up here. I have to say that the food was quite good. Once my hunger pangs were satisfied, the captain announced to us travellers that we were about to start our descent into the Big Apple. I looked out the window and the view was just as spectacular as I had imagined.

After hearing all the positive chatter, I finally got a chance to fly with JetBlue but I have to admit that my experience paled in comparison to everyone else’s. I was disappointed with my experience to be quite honest. That said, I’ll still give this airline a second chance. For now though, this flight gets three stars.
