An Air Canada Express trip exceeds expectations, leaves nothing to be desired

Air Canada Express Takeoff.jpg

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a regular on Air Canada flights and a route like the one connecting Toronto’s Pearson airport to Chicago’s O’Hare means an exciting trip is in the making. Recently I flew with Air Canada Express on an Embraer 175.

I arrived at the airport hoping that the airline would be able to bump me to the earlier flight. I was scheduled to be on the jet taking off at 8:55 p.m., but I crossed my fingers that they would be able to move me to the 7:10 p.m. flight. The agents originally thought it would be a tough adjustment but I waited and at the last minute, they were able to accommodate me. I thanked my luck and got ready for an earlier takeoff. Overall, that check-in experience was one of my favourites.

That effortlessness and ease followed me through customs and security. No problems there! Before I knew it, I was making my way to my gate: F60. I felt that my day was going great and just then, it improved even more! When I got to the gate, the agent called me over and told me that I had been upgraded. Talk about a bonus!

From there, I found out that there had been a slight delay but hey, I was still ahead of schedule and in an upgraded seat. Afterwards, we boarded and at 7:30 p.m. on the dot, we were wheels up.

The crew was absolutely fabulous. Before we were even airborne, the flight attendant was taking our drink orders so we were sipping beverages before we were even above the clouds. It was then that I noticed that the TVs were a little on the outdated side. (Can’t win ‘em all I guess.) Still, they worked just fine. One thing I didn’t love about the in-flight entertainment was that they made you suffer through commercials before settling into the movie. Overall though, that’s a fairly minor complaint for a flight that was otherwise amazing and exceeded expectations. Air Canada Express was definitely a good choice and I would give it four out of five stars.
