Nonstop Problems With Eurowings

Hello AvGeeks, I am here in Miami where I’ll be flying across the pond tonight with EuroWings on board their airbus A330 in Premium Economy. First, let’s talk about check in. Unfortunately, I tried checking in online on the EuroWings website but the site would simply not allow me to. After giving up on the website, I decided to call customer service and ended up on the phone with them for over an hour. By the end of the call they told me that I had to check in with Lufthansa since they codeshare with EuroWings. You guessed it, no luck checking with Lufthansa either. I ended up at the airport a little earlier than normal. After arriving at the airport earlier than usual, the gate agent told me that EuroWings were going to be shutting down their online check in. From one problem to the next, the agent couldn't find my reservation for this flight. Luckily there was a seat available and I was able to get my boarding pass. 

I had worked up an appetite at this point and it was time to sit down to have a little pre flight meal. My meal of choice was a hot and greasy slice of cheese pizza with a diet coke. The flight began to board and I walked down the jetway where I was met by a very friendly crew at the door. 

Once we were airborne, I checked out the amenity kit that had all the necessities provided: eye mask, ear plugs and some face lotion. I reclined my seat back to get some sleep and was very impressed with how far the seats went back. It felt like I was in a business class pod! Other passengers weren’t as impressed as I was as I was woken up by the flight attendant to put my seat up because the person behind me complained they didn’t have enough room. Not ideal. 

The sun started peaking through the window and I woke up to views of Düsseldorf from the sky. Breakfast was a simple bowl of strawberry yogurt with a side of orange juice and afterwards we quickly started our final approach. 

Overall I was not excited about my experience with EuroWings as it seemed there was always a problem. I would not recommend flying with them on a long haul trip and  would have to give this trip a 5 out of 10 stars.
