A Delta Air Lines Adventure: Smooth sailing to Minneapolis

Security can be a nightmare. Every frequent traveller can tell you a story about crazy long lineups or a nearly-missed flight. It’s these stories that make you appreciate the value of a short, to-the-point dealing with security. I recently flew with Delta Air Lines on a trip from Fort Lauderdale to Minneapolis (flight 2753). I checked in online to avoid any potential delays that can happen with one of the busiest airlines in the U.S. that regularly flies into FLL. Let me tell you, Terminal 2 in FLL is a breeze. Even breezier was my experience with security: I was through and on my way to my gate in *gasp* less than 10 minutes! I made my way to my gate and there I saw it: an Airbus A321 waiting to take me to Minneapolis.

I waited in anticipation until it was time to board.

When it was, I made my way down to the jetway. I entered the plane and made my way down the aisle to seat 33A. You know you’re not ready for takeoff until you hear the pilot’s voice. When that announcement finally came, I understood it was going to be a four-hour journey. Moments after, we taxied down the runway and in a split-second, we were off.

Once we reached our cruising altitude, I checked out the movies and I was impressed with the in-flight entertainment. I was happy to have my pick of new releases as well as old classics. I settled in to watching The Internship with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn. There’s nothing like watching a light-hearted comedy on a flight. That’s a comfort that pairs well with a great lunch. I happen to think that Delta serves the best food in the sky (I’m confident in my opinion here.). I got a chicken Caesar wrap, a bag of chips and a coke. Not too long afterwards, we began our descent into Minneapolis.

After this flight, I would have to give Delta five stars. First of all, I thought the crew was very friendly. Second of all, the check-in and boarding processes were very well organized with several gate agents directing passengers and communicating effectively. The in-flight entertainment had something for everyone and for an aviation fanatic like me, the facts about the Delta fleet made the experience extra special. You won’t have to wait long to see me on another Delta flight!
